About

Powered active speaker systems, also known as active speakers or powered speakers, are self-contained audio systems that have built-in amplifiers. These speaker systems do not require external amplifiers to drive the speakers, as the amplifiers are integrated directly into the speakers themselves. They are also complete systems, simplifying setup and reducing the need for additional equipment.?

Powered active speakers are very popular for home entertainment, studio monitoring, and other music listening occasions due to their compactness, flexibility, easy to connect to (either wired or wireless), yet uncompromised sound quality. In addition, new streaming technology makes them even more convenient and versatile. Overall, powered active speaker systems offer a convenient and high-performance audio solution that is easy to set up and operate, making them a popular choice for both casual users and audio professionals.

Our MERUS? multi-chip-module (MCM) Class D amplifiers integrate the record-proven Class D controllers and state-of-the-art low?RDS(on) MOSFETs into small QFN packages, which offer ultra-high efficiency at full load without the need for bulky heatsinks. MCM devices also offer flexible power supply configurations (single rail or split rail) and support multiple speaker load configurations (2x single-ended, 1x BTL, or 1x paralleled-single-ended) which reduces the number of low-pass-filters needed by half.?

Our MERUS? discrete audio solutions include highly scalable audio amplifier driver IC and power MOSFET combinations, which offer superb audio performance and scalable output power up to 3000 W per channel. Combined with Infineon's wide power MOSFET portfolio and GaN HEMTs, the MERUS? discrete audio solutions have become the standard of high-efficiency, robust, and high-reliability industrial reference in the high-power Class D amplification market.?

AIROC? Wi-Fi + Bluetooth? combos integrate IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WLAN and Bluetooth? in a single-chip solution to enable small-form-factor IoT designs. Combo solutions are available for both 1x1 SISO with up to 433 Mbps PHY data rates and 2x2 MIMO with up to 867 Mbps PHY data rates. These solutions can be coupled with external MCUs for RTOS, along with Linux on application processors to implement a complete Wi-Fi + Bluetooth? system. We support our Wi-Fi + Bluetooth? customers through our global network of IoT partners using production-ready, fully certified AIROC? Wi-Fi + Bluetooth? combos modules based on both Linux and RTOS-based platforms.

Infineon¡¯s latest generation of CoolSET? AC-DC integrated power stages in fixed-frequency and quasi-resonant switching schemes offers increased robustness and outstanding performance. These AC-DC solutions are enabled by the integration of the latest 700 V and 800 V CoolMOS? P7 superjunction MOSFET family in both DIP-7 and DSO-12 packages.
