About

System-on-chip (SoC) with Arm? Cortex?-M3 or M0 and H-bridge driver

The MOTIX? TLE984x product family brings together the Arm? Cortex?-M0 core and the market proven peripherals. It integrates on a single die all the necessary functions to sense, control and actuate a motor via a relay. Produced on Infineon¡¯s first-in-industry automotive qualified 130 nm smart power technology, the Infineon MOTIX? TLE984x mixed-signal MCU offers an unmatched level of integration as well as system cost to performance optimization for the target application segments.

MOTIX? TLE984x??offers scalability in terms of flash memory sizes ranging from 36 kB to 64 kB with pin-compatible devices and with up to two high-side switches. It is specifically designed to fit to a wide range of LIN-slave motor control applications such as window lifts and?sunroofs.?The MOTIX? TLE984x family is supported by a complete development tool chain provided by Infineon and third-party vendors. The tool chain includes compiler, debugger, evaluation board, LIN low level driver and configuration tool as well as various software code examples.

Highlights and benefits of MOTIX? 32-bit motor control SOC with integrated relay driver
  • Enable cost and board space improvements ¨C Our system-on-chip solution integrates data processing, actuation and sensing. The chip comes in a leadless VQFN package with 7 x 7 mm footprint and enables PCB space saving. The MOTIX? TLE984x family allows driving relays and MOSFETS at VBATT ¡Ý 6 V without external components, providing a very cost-effective solution on a system level.
  • Enable high levels of system reliability ¨C Extensive diagnostics and protections are embedded within the system-on-chip, more than a discrete approach can offer. In addition, both the Embedded Power IC and the external MOFESTS can be protected.
  • Support multiple and flexible designs with minimal effort ¨C All MOTIX? TLE984x devices are pin and software compatible, maximizing a single design through scalability

MOTIX? MCU tool chain and design-in support

MOTIX? 32-bit motor control SoC solutions are supported by a complete development toolchain provided by Infineon and third-party vendors. The toolchain includes compilers, debuggers, evaluation boards & shields, reference designs, low level drivers, verified and production-ready motor control software and configuration tools. Furthermore, plenty of application notes are available to support your design-in activities.

Together with our partners (Preferred Design Houses) we offer an optimized open market customer support for systems using our system-on-chip solutions. They are trained to provide application- and product-specific support such as

  • Consulting & training
  • Provision of software components, e.g. low-level drivers, embedded software, simulation models, etc.
  • Software development, e.g. parameterization, customization, optimization, tuning
  • Mechatronic development, e.g. design, layout & development of systems, system and test verification
  • Testing, e.g. measurement and test services, test bench services like identification, verification, validation
  • Prototyping, e.g. target cost development, PCB design & component selection

MOTIX? Software and Tools

  • MOTIX? Low-level driver?provide users with a file pair (c./.h file) per module to allow the initialization and configuration of the module during runtime via the provided APIs. The Low-level driver is offered as demo code. Customers can also get access to additional documentation and test reports.?
  • Configuration tools?provide graphical user interfaces to define and generate register settings for the evaluation and configuration of MOTIX? products (e.g. MOTIX? MCU Configuration Wizard).
  • Simulation & modeling tools?allow for efficient prototyping of design and calculation of right values and parameters.?
  • Utilities?are tools which enable users to accomplish a range of tasks such as get readings, analyze data and create dashboards, e.g. Memory Analyzer.
