About

This is the world's only programmable embedded system-on-chip solution based on the Arm? Cortex? -M0+ processor. This new brand of microcontrollers enhances and modernizes the driver¡¯s interface to functions and even beyond the car by personalizing the user experience, making payments inside the car, and including biometric indicators.

Infineon's fingerprint solution surpasses its competitors due to its larger sensing area, sensor-on-substrate architecture, and the ability to create different-size sensors with the same silicon, without sacrificing active area. Additionally, the ability to apply customized coatings and covers on the sensing surface adds further flexibility to the solution's design.

Infineon's fingerprint solution stands out for several reasons. One of the most important parameters for a fingerprint sensor is the size of the actual fingerprint sensing area. Infineon offers a larger sensing area, which captures more biometric data and results in better performance for false rejection ratio (FRR) at any given false acceptance ratio (FAR) setting.

Additionally, Infineon has adopted a sensor-on-substrate architecture in its FPS modules, as opposed to silicon sensor implementations. This means that the size of the sensor is independent of the size of the sensor controller chip, which is mounted underneath. With this architecture, Infineon can create different size sensors with the same silicon, without needing to reduce the active area to save costs.

Moreover, with a substrate-based fingerprint sensor, customized coatings and covers can be applied on the sensing surface. This feature can be especially useful in applications where the sensor may be exposed to harsh environments or where there are specific material requirements.

  • Field upgradable firmware
  • On-sensor image optimization
  • Low-power programmable finger detection
  • Optimized for TRAVEO? T2G and AURIX? microcontroller
  • Automotive-qualified sensor

Microcontroller Training and Video Hub

Dive into the Microcontroller Training and Video Hub and explore expert tutorials, hands-on guides, and in-depth trainings on ModusToolbox?. Whether you're a beginner or a professional, learn the full potential of PSOC? 4 Automotive.

Infineon offers optimized, open-market customer support for systems using PSOC? MCUs through a network of technical experts. The participating partners are trained in the use of PSOC? microcontrollers and provide product- and application-specific support. The Preferred Design Houses (PDH) extend the support force by specifying and customizing their expertise and thus increase the value of customer service.

The first level of support is provided by local field application engineers, and the second level, which addresses more complex topics, is provided by dedicated automotive security experts. Dedicated on-site consulting can also be organized to help customers reduce development time and costs.

The evaluation tool is specifically designed to work in conjunction with the Infineon?KIT-FPG1-T2G-B-E-2M. Its primary function is to enable users to thoroughly assess the features and capabilities of two key Infineon components: the CYFP10020x00 fingerprint sensor and the TRAVEOTM?T2G based Fingerprint Match Module (FPMM).
