About

Infineon PROFET? +2 12V offers single, dual, and four-channel devices (from 1.4 m¦¸ to 200 m¦¸) in TSDSO-14 and TSDSO-24 exposed pad packages and provides state-of-the-art diagnostics and protection features. The family provides outstanding energy efficiency, state-of-the-art current sense accuracy (kILIS), benchmark low cranking voltage capability, and faster switching/slew rate. This family contains different variants such as the -EPG/-ESP without undervoltage recovery delay or -ESP/-EPL with capacitive load switching mode for power distribution, autonomous driving, and zone control applications. The complete portfolio is qualified for automotive applications according to AEC-Q100 Grade 1 or AEC-Q100 Grade 0 and is offered as PRO-SIL? ISO 26262-ready products.

Infineon's PROFET? +2 12V family provides as a diagnostic feature an analog current sense with an outstanding accuracy (¡Ü 4 % at nominal load current). It can be used to monitor the application state as normal, overload, open load, short-circuit to ground, short-circuit to battery condition, protective switch off (overtemperature and overcurrent shutdown), protect the load and the wiring harness, and monitor the output current to control the output power.

The PROFET? +2 12V family offers two variants that differ in the protection strategy mechanism: intelligent restart control and intelligent latch. The first variant has an internal counter which counts the number of fault events (up to 7) before latching. The second variant has an internal latch which protects the output stage in case of a fault event. When the device latches, a reset can be applied to restart the counter.

Infineon offers a range of design-in materials, which include application notes, evaluation boards, PCB design data, simulation models, and also online simulations. Those materials can be found on each product page in chapter "Design Support". In addition, we offer a dedicated tool suite for smart power switches and gate driver ICs for automotive power distribution.

Infineon's Smart Switches Tool Suite support system architects and hardware designers from the idea to the realization. This suite allows the user to select the right smart power switch for a specific load using one of the ¡°Finder & Selection¡± tools. Together with the different ¡°Simulation & Modeling¡± tools, various application scenarios can be simulated for the respective product. The results can be documented in the report tool and verified with the ¡°Configuration¡± tools plus the corresponding evaluation boards.
