About

Infineon's HITFET? + 12V smart low-side switches are qualified and optimized for 12 V automotive and industrial applications such as power steering systems, motor control, lighting, HVAC systems, and power distribution. The HITFET? + 12V family offers single-channel devices with up to 50% shrinkage and better short-circuit robustness, among other additional and improved features compared to its predecessor family, Classic HITFET? 12V.

HITFET? + 12V devices offer an integrated protection function that safeguards against overcurrent, overtemperature, and short-circuit events. All HITFET? + 12V devices have an auto-restart thermal shutdown function. The overvoltage protection can be activated during load dump or inductive turn-off. Moreover, HITFET? + 12V switches can drive applications with high switching speed requirements and have a dedicated STATUS signal for offering digital diagnosis.

The HITFET? + 12V portfolio comprises single-channel devices with an RDS(ON)?range from 10.7 m? to 110 m? and nominal current from 2 A to 10 A in TO-252 (DPAK-3 and DPAK-5) and TDSO-8 packages. The family offers versions with and without diagnosis and fast-switching (for applications with PWM up to 20 kHz).

Infineon offers a range of design-in materials, which include application notes, evaluation boards, PCB design data, simulation models and also online simulations. Those materials could be found on the each product page in chapter "Design Support".? In addition, we offer a dedicated tool suite for Smart Power Switches and Gate Driver IC's for automotive power distribution.

Infineon Smart Power Switches & Gate Driver Tool Suite supports system architects and hardware designers from the idea to the realization. This suite allows the user to select the right smart power switch or gate driver IC for a specific load using one of the ¡°Finder & Selection¡± tools. Together with the different ¡°Simulation & Modeling¡± tools, various application scenarios can be simulated for the respective product. The results can be document in the report tool and verified with the ¡°Configuration¡± tools plus the corresponding evaluation boards.
