About

Like all families of the AURIX? TC3xx?generation, the AURIX? TC38xQP series aims for reduced complexity, best-in-class power consumption, and significant cost savings. These second-generation microcontrollers with embedded flash 40 nm technology come back with increased performance, memory sizes, connectivity, and more scalability to address the new automotive trends and challenges. In terms of performance, TC38xQP offers four cores running at 300 MHz (with 2 additional checker cores delivering 2700 DMIPS), up to 1.5 MB embedded RAM, and power consumption below 2 W. Its mirrored embedded flash banks feature A/B swap capabilities. AURIX? TC38xQP MCUs provide state-of-the-art connectivity with 1 Gbit Ethernet, 2x FlexRay, 24x LINs, 6x QSPI, 2x I?C, 5x PSI, 1x HSSL, 3x MSC, and 12x CAN including data-rate-enhanced CAN FD. They are additionally characterized by a rich peripheral set with 25x SENT, a powerful Generic Timer Module (GTM), CCU6, and GPT12 and is available in two packages: LFBGA-292 and LFBGA-516.

  • Easy migration from AURIX? TC2xx thanks to high software and hardware compatibility
  • Diverse lockstep architecture to reduce development effort for ASIL-D systems
  • Additional lockstep cores provide excellent fault detection and fast reaction times for ASIL-D safety systems
  • Available as single and lockstep cores
  • High integration for reduced complexity and significant cost savings
  • Innovative single-supply concept for best-in-class power consumption and cost savings in external supply
  • Scalability in terms of performance, packages, memory, and peripherals for high flexibility across platform concepts
  • Scalable safety from QM to ASIL-D for industrial and automotive applications
  • Upward and downward scalability to the rest of the AURIX? TC3xx family
  • State of art connectivity CAN FD
  • Delta-sigma ADCs for fast and accurate measurements
  • Hot package options for extended temperature range
  • Supporting floating point and fixed point with all cores

Safety is the core know-how of Infineon, and all products provide safety mechanism (including but not limited to lock-step cores, LBIST, ECC RAM) to ensure a safety platform supporting ASIL-D ISO 26262. Among these features are diverse lockstep cores with clock delay, which help to ensure that errors are detected and corrected before they can cause harm. The AURIX? TC38xQP family also come equipped with redundant and diverse timer modules such as GTM, CCU6, and GPT12, as well as an access permission system, a Safety Management Unit (SMU), and Direct Memory Access (DMA) capabilities. Additionally, the AURIX? TC38xQP microcontrollers prioritize enhanced security with the inclusion of an HSM (Hardware Security Module). The development and documentation of Infineon's AURIX? TC3x microcontrollers follow ISO 26262 standards, making them an ideal choice for safety-critical applications. Furthermore, the microcontrollers are compatible with AUTOSAR V3.2 and V4.x standards, providing users with flexibility when integrating them into their systems.
