Overview

Calypso? is the open standard for ticketing deployed all over the world. The Calypso? standard supports three solutions: Calypso? Prime, Calypso? Light, and Calypso? Basic. All products are part of the same family, sharing the same security mechanisms, and the same unique software in the reader. This ensures compatibility and eases the integration by maintaining the required level of protection. The three solutions are compliant with international standards, independently certified, and designed to share the same data model while keeping a low footprint in the terminal¡¯s software to manage ticketing transactions.

Calypso? products consist of a wide offering of products and solutions to serve access and transport applications based on the Calypso? open standard. Calypso? PRIME is designed for transportation and multi-application, ready for multi-service and mobile. Calypso? LIGHT is focused on transport, events, and access control, perfect for occasional users. Calypso? basic for contactless paper tickets, done right, at the lowest cost, for a full contactless ticketing.

The most advanced card in the Calypso? range. Flexible ticketing across a wide range of applications and platforms, adapted to smartphones and designed for interoperability. Based on open standards, Calypso? PRIME enables access for multiple applications in the same card. Use Calypso? PRIME to simultaneously build an affordable contactless ticketing system for public transport, offer every possible tariff and fare, benefit from interoperability between different networks and transport types, and connect with a citizen card combining transport ticketing with access control to different city or state services.

LIGHT benefits from Calypso¡¯s high security and performance, thanks to a full adherence to standards and low-cost cards. Use Calypso? LIGHT to complete your range of cards, from annual and monthly passes to occasional travelers¡¯ tickets, with only a minor modification to your equipment software. It meets the needs of occasional users and account-based ticketing, using technology based on open standards created by the transport community, for the transport community.

Calypso??basic for contactless paper tickets

A highly secured contactless and very low-cost ticket, avoiding magnetic stripes, barcodes and QR Codes, and proprietary contactless tickets, using technology based on open standards. Calypso? basic is the perfect product to complement the range of Calypso? cards, for passengers that only use public transport occasionally. Use basic to benefit from a low-cost, yet highly secured contactless ticket, bringing an efficient solution to single- and few- trip usage. Tickets are created under the same data model as in Calypso? PRIME and Calypso? LIGHT and managed in the terminals with the same software. Calypso? basic can also be used in many fields other than transport, wherever secured, efficient and low-cost ticketing is required.
